Offer Description

We are looking for a full-time pre-doctoral Research Associate to support the ERC-funded project – "Rural Structural Transformation in Developing Countries" (RUSTDEC). The project investigates the causes and consequences of structural transformation in developing countries and its potential interaction with climate change.

The position is expected to last for ONE MONTH.

The position will be based at UAB’s Bellaterra campus in Barcelona and will be co-supervised by the Principal Investigator of the project, Prof. Andre Groeger, and Prof. Bruno Conte. The successful applicantwill participate in all aspects of the data collection, particularly around the planning and execution of household survey. The position is particularly appropriate for candidates with backgrounds in quantitative social science and experience in primary data collection and / or the empirical context of the study.

Responsibilities include supervising the planning and implementation of data collection, programming digital household survey questionnaires, managing enumerator teams, cleaning and analyzing household survey datasets.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in related field work tasks and be familiar with programming languages such as Stata, R, or Python. Previous knowledge of survey programming tools such as Survey Solution (or similar) is an advantage.

Research Experience : 1-3 years

Eligibility criteria : Based on academic performance and experience.

Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent
