About PLD Space

PLD Space is an international space services company with in-house engineering and manufacturing. It is dedicated to transporting satellites and humans into space, vertically integrating engineering, testing, manufacturing and operations of its reusable and sustainable rockets. Headquartered in Elche (Spain) and founded in 2011 by Raúl Torres and Raúl Verdú, PLD Space has established itself as a global benchmark in the space launcher sector. Its MIURA family of launchers and its LINCE manned capsule position the company as a leader in European technological sovereignty in space transportation, covering the full range of space missions.

With a team of more than 280 employees and 170 million in total funding, PLD Space also has the largest private test benches in Europe, located in Teruel (Spain), and operates two launch bases : El Arenosillo, in Huelva (Spain); and the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), in Kourou (French Guiana). In total, it has more than 188,000m2 of industrial infrastructures under management.

Mission

As the S&C Manager, your main mission within the area will be to achieve the sales closures approved in the annual budget of PLD Space at the approved prices. A large part of this work will consist of opening new markets.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the sales strategy of the company's launch services, reporting directly to the CBDO.

All of this while maintaining excellent coordination with the rest of the company's areas such as Engineering, Finance, or Program to understand the business from the inside to be able to present it outwardly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage S&C Team, including Team and Team members development, vacations & days-off, performance evaluation, salaries, etc.
  • Responsible for sales and revenues derived from launch services.
  • Responsible for preparing proposals for launch services.
  • Responsible for generating and maintaining relationships and interfaces with related departments such as engineering, program, or finance.
  • Report the strategy and sales status to the executive level and the PLD Space boards.
  • Attend key customer meetings.
  • Attend relevant industry events (fairs, congresses, etc.).
  • Lead the organization of events related to the company's sales.
  • Lead the development of the digitalization of our CRM and the quality of data.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of marketing materials related to sales.
  • Support the Finance and Fundraising teams.
  • Monitor and research the global market, including customers, competitors, market trends, etc.
  • Support B2B marketing and social media.
  • Lead relationship and interface with internal Departments.
  • Do whatever is necessary to meet the area's objectives.

Required Requirements

  • B2B sales experience is expected.
  • Exposure to the space sector is essential.
  • Experience working in an international business environment is highly valued.
  • Technical training with payload accommodation on launchers.
  • Proficient in Spanish and English.
  • Advanced level of MS Office 365.
  • Advanced level of CRM tools related to sales and ERP.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Results-oriented capability.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and sales oriented.
  • Good prospecting skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Availability to travel frequently internationally.
  • International driving license.
  • Experience in launchers.
  • Desired Requirements

  • Other languages such as French.
