Hardware Test & Validation Engineer

We're supporting a rapidly growing technology company at the intersection of hardware, software, and high-performance electric mobility. They are now hiring a Hardware Test & Validation Engineer to take ownership of in-house and supplier-side test systems and ensure product quality during both development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement hardware test setups and procedures for electronic assemblies used in production and R&D environments.
  • Deploy and calibrate test stations at internal assembly sites and third-party manufacturing partners, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams and line operators to train on test equipment and feed learnings back into the continuous improvement loop.
  • Investigate and resolve electronic or embedded issues through hands-on diagnostics and data analysis.
  • Partner with design and firmware teams to validate early prototypes, troubleshoot failures, and support product release cycles.
  • Carry out precise soldering and rework on PCBs and connectors for prototyping, test fixture assembly, and repairs.
  • Document all findings and procedures clearly, contributing to a structured knowledge base.
  • Support cross-functional test activities, including in-field or system-level product testing.

Desired Background

  • Academic background or equivalent hands-on training in electronics, mechatronics, or embedded systems.
  • Prior experience working on electronics in a manufacturing or R&D test environment .
  • Strong understanding of PCBA processes , circuit schematics, and common communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, SPI, UART, I2C).
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, and programmable power supplies.
  • Proficient in ECAD tools (preferably KiCAD or Altium).
  • Familiarity with test automation using Python or basic C, or willingness to learn.
  • Solid understanding of lab safety and a disciplined approach to electronics handling.
  • Bonus Skills

  • Experience with battery systems or high-voltage electronics.
  • Exposure to embedded firmware testing and debugging.
  • Use of version control tools (Git, GitHub) or code editors (PyCharm, VSCode).
  • Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced hardware company.
