Head of Talent at Bark - scaling a global marketplace for professional service providers
About Bark
Bark is revolutionising the way people find professionals in over 1,000 unique categories. As the UK's largest and fastest-growing services marketplace, we're on a mission to make finding the right professional quick and easy. With a presence in eleven countries and plans for further expansion, joining us at this genuinely exciting time will be a journey like no other.
Our cutting-edge technology ensures that you can always find the best professional for any job. With a talented team of over 200 dedicated individuals, we're committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring that our customers are satisfied every step of the way.
This is an exciting time to join our scaling business, we recently placed in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024, and previously were 64th in the Sunday Times 100 fastest growing private tech companies in 2023.
As a profitable scale-up, Bark is in a unique position to offer the best of both worlds; the excitement and agility of a start up combined with the financial security and backing of a renowned private equity firm, EMK Capital. You'll have ownership, agility, responsibility and stimulation without any of the worry.
About the role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Product Manager to join our ‘Consumer Acquisition’ squad. This role will report into the Product Director for the Buyer side of the marketplace.
Bark is at the start of a transformation from a lead generation platform to a full marketplace, looking to do to services what Amazon did for physical products.
The Acquisition squad forms an integral part of this transformation as we look to diversify our marketing mix away from Google and build a landing experience in our new marketplace that delivers buyer conversion and satisfaction.
You’ll work on products that are key to this transformation, including SEO optimisation of our site, development of CMS systems to enable the creation and management of our landing pages, as well as the design of relevant ‘onward journeys’ from these pages to optimise conversion through the relevant onward user journeys.
You’ll join an existing squad of developers and work closely with a designer to build a great understanding of your users. Given the importance of your work on acquisition, you’ll work closely with the CMO and marketing leadership team to help craft a vision and roadmap for your area. You’ll also work alongside peers in Analytics, Customer Support and other squads (most notably the ‘Search to contact’ team) to ensure success.
We’re already profitable and incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but we know that most of our work is ahead of us. We have huge aspirations, and our growth plans are product-led, so it’s a great time to join and contribute to revolutionising how people buy and sell services online
