Soar is seeking a talented Head of Engineering to lead our backend development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the implementation of high-quality engineering solutions and serving as the principal technical authority on all backend engineering matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and establish the technical direction for the backend engineering team.
  • Define and implement backend architecture and best practices.
  • Drive the adoption of modern technologies such as Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and AI.
  • Set standards for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Review and approve critical backend design decisions.
  • Hire and mentor backend engineering talent.
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders for end-to-end integration.
  • Research and evaluate new backend technologies and approaches.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of backend development experience.
  • 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and related technologies.
  • Experience with AI / ML in production systems.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability engineering.
  • Proven track record of building high-performance backend systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred.

    • Required Skills

  • Extensive experience with Node.js in production environments.
  • Proficiency with MongoDB and Redis in high-scale applications.
  • Experience applying AI / ML in real-world applications.
  • Preferably experience in fintech or similar high-reliability sectors.
