Senior General Ledger Accountant (French Entities)

From Hays we are looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to support their French legal entities from Biscay.

The Role

As a Senior GL Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounting cycle of French legal entities, including :

• Ensure accuracy and compliance of accounting records under IFRS and French GAAP.
• Manage full-cycle accounting : journal entries, provisions, stock movements, loan tracking, and reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closings, ensuring all balance sheet items are properly documented and discrepancies resolved.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in line with group and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Handle VAT and tax reporting; support external providers and manage inspections.
• Review and validate travel and expense claims.
• Leading process improvements and contributing to system implementations
