Job Description
To support the day-to-day operations of a shipping service, you will assist a Line Manager (LM) or Trade Head in managing vessel movements at sea and in port. You will also be responsible for maintaining close liaison with overseas agents and communicating with masters.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operational aspects, including monitoring vessel movement at sea and vessel activities when in port.
- Manage space control, including executing over-booking, cargo selection addressing fixed slot customer excess requests and liaising with overseas agents on booking forecast.
- Update vessel positions for both our own operated ship and partner's vessel and disseminate revised schedules to internal offices, agencies, and key clients.
- Closely monitor daily vessel speed resulting in bunker consumption using the system to ensure vessel consumption aligns with Time Charter Description (TCD) and cross-check against other sister ships previously operated in the trade or region.
- Monitor and review bunker survey reports of individual stems and confirm that reported quantities align with the master's reported ROB, and immediately address any variations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in maritime business or business management.Minimum 3 years' experience in shipping lines involving trade.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments and various internal & external stakeholders.Willingness to be contactable outside official working hours.Overseas travel may be required as part of business requirements.Independent and result-oriented.Strategic thinker.Ability to focus on tasks and analyze situations, systems, and problems.Ability to make quick decisions supported by information and data gathered.Able to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments.Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.What We Offer
