Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-level / Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a passion for technology to join our team in Madrid. In this role, you will be part of a team of experienced DBAs responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of high-performance databases supporting critical applications and real-time data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of databases.
  • Optimize database queries and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement and maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitor database activity and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration of databases with applications.
  • Perform daily monitoring of database health and performance.
  • Analyze and optimize database queries to improve response times.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.
  • Document database procedures and configurations.
  • Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation for databases.
  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch.
  • Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills in Spanish are required, with basic knowledge of English.
  • Nice to Have

  • Certifications in database administration or related fields.
  • Experience with media or entertainment industry.
  • Skills in other database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, mission-critical environment.
