We are looking for an experienced Staff Java Engineer to join our growing Data Integration team. In this role, you will be collaborating with Product Management, CCE and Infrastructure teams to deliver Data Integration features.
Product areas we work on :
- Data orchestration recipes
- Data movement (ELT use cases)
- Database connectivity (work with major databases at scale)
- Event streams (Kafka, JMS and RabbitMQ connectivity)
- CDC triggers (database change tracking)
- Data Insights (analytics and anomaly detection)
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior management to align engineering goals with company objectivesDrive the execution of Data Orchestration roadmap, including all components of Workato database connectivityCoordinate cross-team projects, ensuring smooth collaboration on shared goalsResearch and introduce new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve the engineering processSupport the growth of other engineers by sharing knowledge and mentoringWork with SRE and Infrastructure teams to improve backend reliability and troubleshoot production issuesPerform code and architecture reviews to maintain code standards and mentor othersContribute in all phases of the development lifecycleWrite well designed, testable, efficient codeEstablish long-term strategy for feature and performance testingEnsure designs are in compliance with specificationsRequirements Technical Skills
BS / MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject14+ years of industry experienceTechnical leadership experienceExperience with cross-team communication and project deliveryExperience in designing, building, deploying and troubleshooting production-grade systemsProficiency with Core JavaExperience with Relational Databases, SQL and JDBC (one of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)Experience of working with Docker and other isolation technologiesExperience of working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud / Heroku)Experience with highload / big data projectsExperience with performance tuning and performance testingExperience with test-driven developmentOptional Requirements
