About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a skilled team responsible for building and evolving a backend search platform used by millions globally. Your mission will be to drive technical excellence, support the professional growth of your team, and ensure successful, scalable delivery.

You’ll be a hands-on technical leader, helping define product architecture, influencing engineering strategy, and prioritising impactful features. Working closely with product and operations teams, you’ll play a critical role in aligning technical direction with business goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a cross-functional engineering team focused on scalable backend search systems
  • Drive delivery of complex projects using Python, GoLang, and modern backend technologies
  • Support engineers’ growth through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback
  • Partner with product teams to define roadmaps and ensure agile delivery
  • Contribute to technical solution design and long-term architectural decisions
  • Act as a key liaison for cross-team collaboration and technical issue resolution

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams (including people managers)
  • Expertise in backend engineering practices : distributed systems, containerization, CI / CD, testing, monitoring, etc.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, software design patterns, and modern development frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to align tech with business needs
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with experience using data-driven KPIs
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
