Candidate will be part of one of the teams working for Bingel Islands. Bingel is the adaptive all-round platform for primary education where teachers and pupils are central. Bingel assists the teacher in achieving his or her main goal : getting the best learning outcomes for each pupil. Its different modules support the teacher not only by offering the best quality teaching materials but also by providing a range of time-saving solutions for planning, preparing, coaching, and assessing. Pupils in Belgium, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands love Bingel as their gamified learning platform for everyday use. Their personal avatar joins them while they’re learning and practicing, earning virtual money to buy avatar accessories or games.
Work setup
We offer two work models : a hybrid setup (three days working from home, two days in the office) or a remote setup with occasional visits to our Barcelona office for team events, training, and business trips. Your designated home office should be in Spain, and you are expected to work exclusively within Spain.
Role responsibilities
Help build the most innovative and engaging educational applications.
As a Java developer, you will be part of one of our Scrum teams. You will develop new functionalities, solve problems, and analyze complex issues. By creating proofs of concept, you will assist the team in making technical decisions where necessary.
You will contribute to support tickets and perform minor operational tasks. There is also a rotating role responsible for monitoring the application and checking logs.
You will maintain a focus on quality and motivate your team members to do the same.
Must-have requirements
At least 6 years of Java experience (11 or higher)
Passion for building secure, scalable, high-availability solutions
Previous experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe...)
Fluent communication and documentation skills in English and Spanish
A positive attitude and ability to work in an international team
