This Underwriter role is an excellent next step if you have relevant experience in insurance or transferable skills for entry into underwriting.

AIG underwriting teams develop insurance solutions across Financial Lines, Property Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

This role focuses on underwriting new and renewal business to drive profitable growth in our Casualty department.

You will assess risk desirability through regular contact with brokers, close coordination with AIG subject matter experts, and thorough reviews of claims history and company information.

Building strong relationships with brokers is key. You will provide excellent service through a consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting. Additionally, you will aim to generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market, aligned with a sales plan set with your manager.

Another important aspect is providing accurate monthly management information, including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Relevant underwriting experience in Casualty / Liabilities is preferred, but applications from those with other relevant professional experience are welcome.
  • Law or Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer and sales-oriented behaviors : motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
