About the Role :

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. You will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining robust data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes that power Macadam's analytics, reporting, and product features. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-impact product used by millions, tackling challenges related to data ingestion, transformation, storage, and accessibility at scale.

Responsibilities :

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL / ELT) for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into our data warehouse and data lake using appropriate GCP services.
• Develop and optimize data models and schemas for our data warehouse (PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and data lake to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data across all data systems.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, backend engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver robust data solutions such as dashboards.
• Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for efficiency and cost.
• Implement and maintain data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for data processes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our data engineering standards and practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for our data platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
