In our European Consumer Compliance Organization, we are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our European Payments Regulatory Compliance Team.

How will you make an impact in this role?

This position will play a critical role within the European Compliance Organization to drive the response to the ever-changing Payments regulatory framework in the region, with a specific focus on EU Regulations and their impacts on EU Member States. It will be key to building, managing, and leading an effective European framework for compliance with applicable laws and regulations in sectors such as Payment Services and Consumer Protection.

Besides supporting the Compliance Manager and the EMEA Market Compliance Officers Community, this position will also work closely with other departments like the General Counsels Organization (GCO), Government Affairs, Line of Business Compliance, and Control Management to build a common platform across European markets and facilitate the adoption of a consistent compliance strategy and oversight (including impact identification requirements). This role will also facilitate awareness, communication, and escalation of matters related to payments regulations to ensure risks are promptly understood.

  • Providing centralized compliance support and advice across EMEA on key regulatory projects in the payment services sector for the consumer business (e.g., PSD2, IFR, SEPA, EU Retail Payments, Digital Finance Strategy, and Consumer Agenda, Consumer Credit Directive), with a focus on EU Regulations and their impacts on EU Member States to determine compliance strategies and internal policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the Compliance Manager in delivering early compliance impact assessments of new regulations to ensure timely implementation of requirements and controls through the RCM process.
  • Supporting the Compliance Manager in building documentation and accelerating the harmonization of compliance requirements across EU markets, especially in the Nordics (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark).
  • Facilitating awareness, communication, and escalation of matters related to payments regulation, supporting responses to actual or potential risks.
  • Identifying key risks for the region, particularly in the Nordics, and providing regulatory assessments and rationale for risk scoring.
  • Interpreting EU-wide regulatory requirements and reporting instructions, supporting the business in validation and escalation of risks, and addressing queries from supervisory authorities.
  • Overseeing policies and procedures, drafting second-line policies driven by EU regulations, updating them as regulations change, and addressing audit queries regarding interpretation of requirements.
