Job Opportunity : Data Protection Lawyer at Colt Technology Services
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Data Protection Lawyer to join Colt Technology Services, a global provider of network, voice, and data centre services. The position is a 1-year fixed-term contract based in Madrid, Spain, with a hybrid work setup.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and implement the global data protection program.
- Interpret and apply GDPR, national laws, and European Data Protection Board guidance.
- Collaborate with business owners on regulatory guidance and emerging laws, including cybersecurity laws.
- Provide privacy risk management advice and handle complex queries.
- Support breach response related to privacy incidents and data breaches.
- Embed data protection into business operations through relationship building.
- Raise awareness and advocate for privacy-by-design.
- Assess and review new products and features from a privacy perspective.
- Negotiate data protection clauses in contracts.
- Develop and deliver data protection training and awareness programs.
- Monitor industry and regulatory developments in data protection and information security law.
- Draft privacy policies and advise on international data transfers.
- Utilize technology, including AI and ML, to automate compliance and mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Skills
Extensive experience in data protection and GDPR.Ability to work across disciplines and cooperate cross-functionally.IAPP or similar certifications are advantageous.Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.Ability to assess risks and provide pragmatic advice.Autonomous working style with good judgment on escalation.Legal expertise with a focus on commerciality and pragmatism.Fluency in English; additional languages are desirable.Additional Skills
Regulatory compliance, strategic planning, due diligence, GDPR, data protection concepts.Education
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or relevant field.
