BarcelonaTech (UPC) invites expressions of interest for one Senior Serra Húnter Distinguished Professor post in Cybersecurity in an industrial environment to strengthen teaching, research, technology transfer and high-level academic leadership at its Manresa campus.

Distinguished Professor posts at Spanish public universities open very rarely through the competitive Serra Húnter programme. We therefore seek serious, committed, and high-calibre candidates ready to build long-term impact in teaching, research and technology transfer on-site in Manresa.

Your mission at UPC-Manresa

Anchor the MERIT MSc (Machine Learning & Cyber-security for Internet-Connected Systems) by coordinating the core modules in industrial cyber-security, IoT security, etc.

Lead competitive research that fuses AI-driven threat detection with resilient cyber-physical systems, positioning EMIT in Horizon Europe and EIT Digital calls.

Drive knowledge-transfer projects with the TECNIO Smart Sustainable Resources (SSR) group and the strong automotive-mining cluster of central Catalonia.

PhD and outstanding research record in cyber-security for industrial or IoT environments (OT, CPS, IIoT, 5G edge, etc.).

Evidence of academic leadership : major grants, Q1 publications, patents or spin-offs, and successful supervision.

10 years of post-doctoral experience is recommended

Fluency in English (C1). Catalan is not required at entry,yet to get the permanent position.

Must currently hold an academic post outside Spain

Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent

Additional Information

Gross salary : ≈ €60 000 / year .

Annual teaching load : 120 lecture hours (≈ 1 course per semester).

Successful completion allows you to compete for a permanent Chair (CU / CC) under UPC’s Chairs Plan.
