What we expect from the Business Analyst

The Business Analyst mission is to be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support strategic decision-making within the company. The main role is to provide key insights into the organization's financial performance, identify trends, and assist in financial and budget planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and generate reports for management.
• Evaluate the profitability of projects, investments, and new business opportunities.
• Develop financial models and economic projections.
• Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Prepare budgets and track compliance.
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate in the preparation of reports for investors and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on market trends and financial regulations.
• Work with the Chief Commercial Officer and the commercial areas to develop timely and insightful reporting on the pipeline and on existing projects
• Develop a detailed view on gross margin by project, geography, type of service, type of project, and type of customer
• Support the Chief Financial Officer in the development of the Sales / Finance call documents, providing relevant input and supporting with the creation and evolution of the document
• Prepare detailed variance analyses to ensure actual events are tracked vs budget and previous year, providing relevant insights on why performances were different vs. expected
• Lead efforts to develop ad hoc analyses (e.g., pricing evolution by customers, rates paid to subcontractors and employees)
• Develop a month end close checklist and ensure that it is followed through in a timely and precise manner
• Lead the month end close process and ensure the financial reporting package is delivered by Private Equity (PE) deadlines, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement, as well as all other PE’s requirements (e.g., Monthly Financial Summary)
• Support the Chief Financial Officer with yearly budget preparations, including all supporting analyses and output tabs
• Support the Chief Financial Officer with quarterly reforecast efforts
• Lead the creation of the next generation of the Thirteen Week Cash Flow forecast, including weekly variances and reporting out
• Ensure Daily Liquidity Reports are delivered daily and according to PE’s requests
• Support with the audit process, by providing relevant information to the auditors when needed, and by supporting the tie out process from audited statements to MGC reporting packages
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast cash flow, and provide actionable insights into ownership
• Support PE team on ad hoc requests that might emerge from time to time (e.g., third-party spend tracker)
