Position Overview

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to develop advanced AI models, including generative, anomaly detection, and predictive techniques, for high-resolution geospatial analysis related to buildings, energy, and population dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design machine learning and generative models to detect anomalies, impute or replace faulty geospatial and sensor data, and create synthetic datasets when real data is incomplete or biased.
• Generate new layers of information, such as inferred building energy needs, urban microclimates, or social vulnerability indices, by combining satellite imagery, sensor data, and official statistics.
• Integrate spatial reasoning with temporal forecasting for climate adaptation and energy transition planning at the local scale.
• Collaborate with territorial and urban stakeholders to apply these models in real-world case studies, including Barcelona and other Mediterranean cities.

Impact

This research will advance GeoAI applications in urban sustainability and energy planning, focusing on buildings, climate, and the communities within them.

Qualifications

Salary and Contract

Gross salary : €35,186.46, with additional funding for participating in HE-funded research projects.

Weekly hours : 40 hours / week

Contract : Permanent, contingent on project duration

Duration : 2 years
