Summary

The Quality Strategy, OPEX, and PMO Head provides leadership and coordination for the Novartis RLT Global Quality Leadership Team (QLT). This role ensures strategic and operational alignment with the Novartis Quality Strategy, Technical Operations Strategy / Program Management, and other functions / Novartis Platform teams. It defines and executes the QLT governance structure, oversees it on behalf of the leadership team, and leads cross-functional and cross-divisional project teams to deliver global strategic plans impacting the Quality Budget.

This role ensures divisional and business strategies align with global quality strategies, develops systems for initiative integration into daily operations, and maintains governance bodies for strategic pillars, including progress tracking.

It works closely with leadership to develop and communicate strategies and owns communication plans for Global Quality. Reporting to the Global Platform Quality Head RLT, it supports initiatives and represents global interests of Quality Operations.

Major Accountabilities

  • Contribute to global quality strategies, create platform-specific plans, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Manage quality initiatives, oversee resources, and lead project review boards.
  • Establish governance systems and maintain decision-making bodies.
  • Develop and execute communication plans within Quality and across Novartis.
  • Support Quality organizational development, talent identification, and succession planning.
  • Partner with Finance to manage budgets and oversee expenditures.
  • Provide strategic support for leadership meetings and town halls.
  • Lead cross-divisional initiatives to drive alignment and innovation.

Obligatory Requirements

  • B.S. degree required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • 4-7 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, or contract interactions; BLA / MAA and PAI experience preferred.
  • Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs.
  • Approximately 25% travel required.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
