Clevertech, a growing organization based in New York City, is currently seeking to add a Director of Finance & Operations to our lean and expanding team! This is a unique role for someone comfortable with both financial analysis and strategic business planning. This position reports directly to the organization's C-suite team.

Major Finance Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance team responsible for corporate finance activities, including transaction recording and classification in accordance with GAAP, monthly close processes, and producing timely and accurate financial reports and operational KPI data for management.
  • Identify, analyze, and research complex financial problems, questions, or discrepancies; implement action plans to correct, improve, or mitigate risks.
  • Develop the Finance and HR teams through career guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Perform investment analysis and monitoring, presenting findings to leadership.

Major Operations Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reports from recruiting and human resources departments.
  • Develop workforce plans, forecasting capabilities, and maintain a pipeline of talent for key positions.
  • Oversee resource management KPIs; note this is not a functional HR / recruiting role.

    • Position Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of accounting experience (preferably at a top 5 firm) or management consulting experience.
  • Strong proficiency with software tools and reporting.
  • Ability to lead a team through change, supporting teamwork, strength, and goal achievement.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a background in business writing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment.
