Job Purpose

Design and develop software systems and applications, making high-level decisions on design, technical measures, platforms, and programming standards, considering obsolescence and security.

• Build strong relationships with business colleagues, understand their strategies and goals, and recommend solutions to support business outcomes.
• Create high-quality solution designs and proposals for software and infrastructure to meet business needs.
• Identify project stakeholders and desired outcomes, analyzing operational and non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, scalability, obsolescence, and security.
• Propose system architectures and components aligned with EA direction and design principles.
• Prioritize information security, ensuring all solutions are secure by design.
• Select appropriate technologies for implementation and interoperability.
• Monitor architecture and vendor roadmaps post-implementation, proposing updates to ensure reliability, value, and security.
• Maintain high standards in architecture documentation, updating and storing it properly.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in team tasks.
• Stay updated with technological developments, vendor roadmaps, and industry trends.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues across solutions, InfoSec, and infrastructure teams on design and implementation.
• Possess knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Archimate.
• Operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, applying practical knowledge.
• Lead technical documentation efforts and present high-level and low-level designs.
