The Director Legal Counsel supports several HQ allocated functions, drives the legal operations in the subregion EMEA South including UK / IRL, supports as needed on various legal matters for Advanced Bionics International Markets (ROW – Outside US) and Sonova Consumer Hearing in the assigned countries.
Your tasks :
- Partner with local and regional management and HQ teams to implement corporate policies and ensure compliance
- Advise on key legal areas, including Distributor Markets, Global Key Accounts, Competition (Antitrust), and Human Resources
- Provide regulatory and strategic guidance on Clinical Research, Marketing, and Quality matters
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and business development projects with a hands-on approach
- Establish and refine contract templates, related processes, and conduct legal training
- Oversee legal operations and corporate governance for assigned EMEA South and / or UK / IRL regions
- Work closely with business partners to mitigate risks and align legal strategies with business goals
- Conduct legal research and manage external counsel relationships effectively
Your profile :
Master of Law or Juris Doctor degree with bar admission in at least one key jurisdiction (Switzerland, EU member state, or UK / IRL); additional qualifications (LLM, MBA, CAS) are a plus10+ years of legal experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house within a multinational company, preferably in the med tech, high tech, or life sciences sectorBackground in litigation, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters with a hands-on approachA business-oriented, strategic approach, balancing legal expertise with commercial insightProven problem-solving and negotiation skills, crafting practical, rapid solutions while mitigating risksExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, synthesizing complex legal topics for stakeholders at all levelsResilient, motivated self-starter with sound judgment and high ethical standardsFluent English (native or near-native); proficiency in at least two other main European languages (German and / or French highly desirable)Tech-savvy, comfortable working with MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and ExcelJoin us in making a difference through innovation.
