Acai Travel ($4.5M raised, VC-backed) needs a Principal Engineer who owns customer relationships while scaling our technical team. As our CTO focuses on strategic growth, you'll lead 8-15 engineers in 2025 and be the central point of contact and value delivery of the company. You will work closely with our two founders (CEO and CPTO).

In just few months, we've grown from 3 clients ($15K MRR) to 10 clients ($80K MRR) at 30% monthly growth. You'll own our most complex customer accounts while mentoring our engineering team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to help design and build the backend systems behind our AI automation platform. You’ll work across the stack, but with a strong backend focus, collaborating closely with peers and staying close to customer problems.

This role sits at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and product —ideal for someone who wants to build systems that actually run in production and solve messy real-world problems.

What You’ll Do at Acai

Build and evolve scalable backend services in Go (with gRPC and MongoDB)

Work across AI workflows, automation logic, and third-party integrations

Contribute to system architecture and long-term tech decisions

Occasionally dive into TypeScript when needed

Collaborate directly with teammates and customers to shape solutions that work

What We’re Looking For

Experienced backend engineer comfortable with distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

Skilled in Go or similar systems languages, and familiar with tools like gRPC, MongoDB, or Terraform

Curious about how AI, automation, and business ops fit together—and eager to learn more

Self-directed, proactive, and excited to work in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment
