What the role entails

At Play’n GO, we create world-class online slot games that captivate players across the globe. We’re seeking a passionate and analytical Game Designer who thrives at the intersection of creativity and precision. The ideal candidate will bring a strong knowledge of slot game mechanics, game math, and player psychology—balancing entertainment with performance, as well as an understanding of core UX principles.

This is not just about how the game looks or feels—it’s about how it works under the hood. You’ll be responsible for designing games that are not only intuitive and beautiful, but also mechanically compelling, mathematically balanced, and financially sound.

Some Key Responsibilities of our Game Designer :

Design slot game mechanics from the ground up, including base gameplay, bonus features, progression systems, and monetization models.

Define and optimize core game parameters such as Return to Player (RTP) and Volatility, collaborating with math and analytics teams to ensure gameplay aligns with commercial goals and regulatory standards.

Own the player journey—crafting intuitive UX flows and engaging UI layouts that complement the game mechanics and enhance the overall experience.

Create and maintain comprehensive game design documentation, including feature specs, wireframes, user flows, game logic diagrams, and math model descriptions.

Work cross-functionally with Mathematicians, Developers, Artists, Producers, and QA to ensure alignment and successful execution from concept to live game.

Regularly playtest and analyze prototypes and production builds, providing clear feedback and actionable suggestions to refine gameplay and balance.

Stay informed on industry trends, player preferences, and competitor titles to continually evolve our design thinking and product innovation.

What we ask of you

Proven experience in slot or casino game design, ideally with titles that have gone to market.

Strong grasp of game math, including probability, RTP, volatility, hit frequency, and paytable logic.

Solid understanding of UX / UI principles and how player interaction drives retention and engagement.

Ability to break down complex systems into clear, concise documentation and design blueprints.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align creative and technical teams around a shared vision.

Experience mentoring junior designers or contributing to design reviews and ideation workshops.

Tools & Skills You’re Comfortable With

Design & prototyping tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, or equivalents.

Project management and documentation platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and working closely with development teams.

Strong mathematical and analytical mindset; comfort with using probability, statistics, and spreadsheets for balancing and modeling.
