Portfolio Strategy Senior Manager
The Travel Distribution Portfolio Strategy team sets the direction of the portfolio by recommending on investment, divestment, partnership, and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) areas, optimizing the long-term strategic fit and revenue generation.
You will ensure the portfolio transitions smoothly from our current products to capabilities in a future platform play, support the Product Management organization in achieving strategic goals and a strategic mindset, and support Travel Distribution leadership in direction setting and decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the identification and formulation of the key issues which need to be addressed by Strategy (key threats and opportunities).
Identify opportunities / needs for studies to support activities.
Responsible for the definition and delivery of complex studies focused on significant strategic issues, including developing business recommendations on growth opportunities (organic and inorganic) and investment priorities, as well as building recommendations on the best operating model to support the strategy.
Represent Strategy in various internal events (e.g., market seminars, regular BU / segment checkpoints, etc.).
For projects / studies under your responsibility, define the scope and deliverables in cooperation with internal clients, lead the project using best practices, coordinate a virtual team made of resources from Corporate Strategy, BUs (business units), internal support functions, and external sources of knowledge.
For projects / studies under your responsibility, you will :
Provide support and feedback to the Strategy Analysts / Managers involved in the studies, ensuring that each study allows participants to learn and develop their profile.
Provide the deliverables agreed in the project plan, in accordance with best practices, focusing on the quality of delivery and commitment to the internal customer.
Ensure that studies are carried out according to commitments to internal customers.
Present findings and recommendations to appropriate decision groups (BU, ExCom).
If included in the project’s scope, supervise the implementation of the proposed recommendation in close cooperation with the business.
Ensure that customer satisfaction is monitored and maintained at a high level.
The Ideal Candidate
University degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or IT. MBA is an advantage.
At least 7 years of experience in product / portfolio management, strategy consulting firms, or strategy departments.
Experience in working in global multinationals, in complex organizational structures, and on a project basis.
Good understanding of Financial and Strategic frameworks, Problem Solving, and Knowledge of the Travel & IT business.
English : Proficient in oral and written communication. Proficiency in other languages is beneficial.
