JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Madrid. You will play a key role in building, optimizing, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, have a passion for data, and want to contribute to impactful projects, this role is for you!

This is a hybrid position based in Madrid.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data models, and dictionaries.
  • Develop and implement ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources to data warehouses or other systems.
  • Design and deliver data integration solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
  • Optimize ETL workflows and database queries to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Define, design, and develop data ingestion processes to build the Data Warehouse and Data Lake in the cloud.
  • Perform SQL-based data validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide clean, structured data.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform , including designing and managing data warehouses.
  • Proficiency in SQL , with expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries for large datasets.
  • Strong Python skills, with experience in data manipulation libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and transitioning on-premise databases to cloud-based systems.
  • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications effectively.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable data architectures and workflows in the cloud.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be a Spanish or European citizen or have a work permit for Spain
  • Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with DataStage and Talend for ETL development.
  • Experience using Dataform (SQL) for analytics project dependencies.
  • Knowledge of deploying containerized applications using Cloud Run ( Docker ).
  • Experience integrating data pipelines with Power BI for visualization purposes.
  • Previous experience in migration projects, particularly moving on-premise systems to cloud platforms.
