In We Are Social Madrid, we're looking for a Financial Controller.

The Finance Controller plays a crucial role in our business, managing all financial aspects including P&L, accounting, reporting, purchase orders, invoicing, revenues, and expenses control.
This role is vital in our growing offices in Madrid and Portugal, reporting directly to the Global team. It involves cross-departmental collaboration with Client Services, Operations, and People & Culture teams, as well as close daily interaction with our international offices.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and support monthly reporting and P&L for HQ.
- Conduct monthly accounting reviews.
- Manage cash flow balance and planning.
- Act as a business partner to the Managing Director and client leads to develop commercial strategies, financial proposals, and ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Support the Client Services team with profitability tracking, budgeting, and financial processes.
- Coordinate finance and administrative tasks for client services, including POs, quotations, invoicing, revenues, and expenses.
- Analyze key financial metrics and operational procedures to identify process improvements.
- Develop procurement strategies and supplier procedures.
- Build and control budgets.
- Oversee supplier payments and controls.
- Supervise invoicing and revenue management.
- Manage relationships and controls with external consultants and support global audits.
- Assist in resolving financial issues.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
- Supervise and maintain the agency's ERP systems.
- Track contracts with clients and suppliers.
- Support administrative and logistical tasks as needed.
- Oversee and train the Office Manager in administrative support tasks.
- Collaborate with all teams to educate them on financial processes and concepts.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Business understanding of the Portuguese market.Experience with ERP implementation.Previous experience in advertising agencies, creative environments, production companies, studios, or similar is a plus.4-5 years in a similar role or in audit / consulting firms.Degree in Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related financial studies.Knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese accounting and tax rules.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic, flexible environment.Detail-oriented and results-driven.Team player with a strong analytical mindset.Excellent proficiency in Office, especially Excel.Fluent in English; Portuguese or Italian skills are a plus.We offer a hybrid work model, remote allowances, flexible work locations, generous holidays, allowances for food, transport, or childcare, training opportunities, language classes, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
