The Team

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Art & Private Clients Division, currently composed of 6 members, some based in Lisbon. The business is growing rapidly, with excellent career opportunities and ambitious development plans for Spain.

The Role

Within the Hiscox Underwriting Team, you will be responsible for underwriting and renewing a portfolio of Art & Private Client Risks in Spain. Building strong broker relationships and providing excellent service are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price, and negotiate accounts in line with risk quality and guidelines
• Develop and maintain broker relationships
• Collaborate with various departments to enhance products and contribute to financial performance
• Maintain high service standards
• Monitor results and suggest productivity improvements
• Maximize renewal retention and handle mid-term adjustments
• Grow business income via cross-sell and up-sell strategies
• Efficiently handle broker requests
• Negotiate effectively with internal and external parties
• Ensure profitability through sound underwriting decisions
• Challenge non-standard decisions and escalate as needed
• Proactively manage account performance and address non-performing accounts
