Job Description About the Role :

Responsible for overseeing the delivery of country-specific commercial and market access / reimbursement programmes, to launch and fully commercialise the company’s product portfolio within the territory, establish and lead Spain public-private partnerships (PPPs). This involves close collaboration with medical affairs, evidence generation activities, the VP for medical affairs in the region, and other global and regional programmes to optimise the contribution of the Country to these goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Build and develop an integrated and effective Country leadership team capable of executing the Spain plan and securing growth aligned with the company’s international plans.
  • Work closely with the Biopharma team to ensure effective coordination at the Country level with VP EU biopharma and the respective biopharma teams.
  • Achieve key performance targets including sales revenue and profitability of the portfolio in the Country. Business growth beyond the annual plan is highly desirable.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive Country level P&L, ensuring delivery and managing variances appropriately.
  • Identify and manage complex high-value regional or private sector tenders, including post-award contracting and information governance processes.
  • Establish and lead a strategy to secure public reimbursement regionally and nationally for Guardant Health’s portfolio in Spain.
  • Develop a rational pricing approach aligned with company profitability guidance, optimising revenue and profit levels.
  • Deliver accurate sales and profit forecasts monthly and quarterly, adjusting budgets as needed and developing course corrections to mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities.
  • Hire, develop, and coach a market-leading Country team with the right competencies and motivation.
  • Implement and maintain commercial excellence programmes to enhance planning and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services team to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Oversee and manage the interface between the direct Country Sales effort and PPP partners.
  • Work with the International Public Affairs and Market Access team to define and execute strategies for reimbursement in Spain.
  • Support an effective medical team capable of articulating the clinical offering to clinicians at all levels.
  • Ensure the Country contributes to global and regional trials and develops specific Country studies for evidence development.
  • Manage and develop the Country team to deliver top performance and position the business as a desirable employer.
  • Manage and lead Spain’s commercial team, including a sales distributor and market access consultants; dotted line leadership of medical director.
  • Partner with senior director of international business development to co-manage EUAA long-range plans.

Qualifications

  • Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacy, Medical or equivalent degree. A relevant Masters (particularly an MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Full, clean, current national driving license.
  • Experience

  • 5+ years in a Senior Sales or Medical management role, ideally in Oncology molecular diagnostics / devices or related areas.
  • Experience managing teams to achieve targets with minimal intervention and managing P&L budgets.
  • Expert knowledge of the public and private oncology genomic medicine healthcare landscape.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex commercial and medical programmes.
  • Skills

  • Proven commercial and scientific management ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and work closely with teams in the field.
  • Strong presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels, including C-suite.
