Who we are looking for We are looking for an
experimental optical engineer
with a startup mindset to develop interferometric benchtop setups and to characterize and integrate optical components in optical modules. The main objective is to
develop optical modules for Inmersia’s near-eye display .
What you will do Build and operate
optical benchtop systems, for
interferometry
in the visible and UV wavelengths with advanced polarisation management. Build and operate
optical characterisation
setups for Inmersia’s proprietary optical and optoelectronic elements with a special focus on image quality parameters such as colour, brightness and uniformity. Support the
integration of optical elements
into optical modules. Manage the optics lab
equipment, stock and inventory of materials. Ensure
compliance with safety standards
in the optics lab, including handling class 3 lasers.
What technical skills you have Absolute essentials 3+ years of experience in
building optical
setups for interferometry or image quality characterisation Familiarity with using class 3
lasers Experience working with
small optoelectronic components
for consumer electronics such as micro displays, cameras, light sources and light modulators Theoretical and practical understanding of
refractive and diffractive optics Valuable extras Knowledge of the human visual system Basic experience with working in clean rooms, with a glove box or a laminar flow hood Experience integrating optical components in modules with small tolerances Knowledge about laser safety standards and their implementation
What education you have Master’s degree
Optics ,
Physics
or similar and
3 years of experience
in building optical setups for
interferometry
and / or visible light
image quality
characterisation, preferably for AR applications A
PhD degree
