Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to providing cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.

TRIO is looking for a Clinical Outsourcing Unit Manager to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Outsourcing Unit Manager , this position will be remote-based in Spain.

Responsibilities :

  • Supports the design and maintenance of Clinical Outsourcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) / Procedures, activity trackers, tools (budget templates, budget review tools, etc.).
  • Provides oversight of TPO budgets, including monthly review of TPO activities.
  • Forecasts budget reconciliation and negotiation of change orders, as required under the supervisor’s guidance, such as :
  • Ensures compliance with TRIO standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to contracts and budgets associated with the services provided by Third Parties Organizations (TPOs).
  • Is knowledgeable of contract terms and conducts ongoing monthly review of TPO activities to determine compliance with the contract and budget specifications.
  • Participates in negotiation of change orders and performs budget amendments as required or as directed by the Global Coordinator.
  • Reviews billing information for compliance and accuracy prior to submission to the finance department for processing.
  • Negotiates Master Service Agreements (MSA) and creates standard budget grids with TPOs under supervisor guidance.
  • Performs quality control on TPO files, works with COU Specialists to resolve issues or discrepancies, and reaches out to involved parties for additional information when necessary.

This position is not considered a people manager, therefore has no direct reports.

Qualifications :

  • A bachelor’s degree (in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Life Sciences) is preferred but will consider combinations of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with Clinical Trials and working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to take initiative, be flexible, exercise good judgment, and interface with all levels of management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to engage and obtain commitments from external parties.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country.
  • Fluent in English.
