Institutional Business Development Manager

Ecolab is seeking a Business Development Manager for our Institutional Division, which offers tailored cleaning and sanitizing solutions to meet the needs of restaurants, hotels, long-term care facilities, schools, and commercial buildings.

The successful candidate will focus on acquiring new customers through strategic analysis, prioritization, and sales planning / execution. Business development will involve collaboration with marketing, divisional leadership, and the CAM team to develop and implement growth strategies by market segment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new customer acquisition directly and via key distributors
  • Manage a significant deal volume and maintain target account pipelines
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans based on market segment and geography
  • Implement sales strategies, incentive programs, and training initiatives to support distributor growth
  • Leverage Ecolab innovations to acquire new customers, increase market share, and foster customer loyalty
  • Establish credibility with current and prospective customers through industry knowledge and sales experience
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to inform strategic decision-making and manage the territory effectively
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to secure new business
  • Act as account manager for existing accounts and coordinate retention strategies with District & Territory Managers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, marketing, or business administration
  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B field sales
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Strong customer service skills and integrity, with the ability to develop relationships with senior decision-makers in chain accounts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of business, including financial and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving skills to understand customer needs
  • Organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Based in Madrid or Pais Vasco
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in food science, marketing, or business administration (preferred)
  • Experience with large national and multinational accounts
  • Experience developing relationships at a senior level within customer accounts
