Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to provide operational support to the Compliance department. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Chief AML Compliance Officer.

The role is multi-functional and requires excellent communication skills and proficiency in research, report and policy writing. Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and international sanctions, and the concept of risk assessment is a requisite, supported by demonstrated critical thinking ability.

The ideal candidate will be creative and have an interest in, if not a passion for, understanding blockchain technology and the concepts of financial inclusion and freedom; an understanding of Bitcoin and stablecoins is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing the Compliance Diary, including scheduling mandatory regulatory reporting, registrations, and meetings with the Board and Senior Management.
• Coordinating compliance-related meetings with relevant stakeholders, including committee members, and maintaining minutes of such meetings.
• Coordinating mandatory and ongoing training requirements, drafting training materials in collaboration with compliance officers and managers.
• Researching new product and service areas, technological compliance solutions, and country-specific regulations, liaising with internal teams such as Business Development and Onboarding.
• Monitoring regulatory websites, news, and alerts, including FATF updates and adverse media, and maintaining a tracker of internal changes.
• Drafting reports on regulatory and legal updates pertinent to relevant countries.
• Preparing presentations on compliance matters.
• Managing the Policy management system and drafting policies and procedures.
• Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting governance practices related to policy and procedure updates.
