Hyren is a new green hydrogen platform created by Matrix Renewables, a global renewable energy platform backed by TPG and its $19 billion impact investing platform, TPG Rise.
With extensive experience in renewable energy, managing over 15 GW of renewable power and 60 years in the hydrogen sector, Hyren aims to develop a pipeline of over 4000 MW in Spain, including construction, management, and operation.
Hyren is positioned for rapid growth in a sector supported by national and European decarbonization policies. To support this growth, the company is building a multidisciplinary team.
The Role and Responsibilities
This position reports to the CEO and is a key member of the team. Based in Madrid, the successful candidate will oversee Hyren's project portfolio development.
The candidate will leverage their experience to identify risks, manage the portfolio, development team, and external partners. Performance will be evaluated based on milestones, budget adherence, project progress, and problem-solving capabilities, all within a collaborative, values-driven environment.
The candidate should have a strong network in the Spanish energy sector, particularly in hydrogen and renewables, and be familiar with project development, contract negotiations (SPAs, DSAs, PDAs, JDAs), and project closings.
Responsibilities include leading and expanding the project development team, managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, obtaining permits and licenses, and ensuring projects reach Ready to Build status on schedule and within budget.
Additional duties involve financial modeling, viability analysis, infrastructure planning, negotiation of partnerships, reporting, community relations, stakeholder management, ESG policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with anti-corruption standards.
