I’m currently working closely with a leading European Energy Solutions provider that is expanding their engineering team and seeking a skilled HV Electrical Engineer to join them in their Madrid office
This role is critical to ensuring the ongoing operational integrity and performance of medium and high-voltage substations and related infrastructure supporting renewable energy installations. The successful candidate will take a lead role in maintenance operations, audits, and safety compliance, playing a key part in the continued success of energy transition projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare technical operation and maintenance (HV O&M) reports in alignment with customer contracts.
- Support the definition and application of operating procedures and contribute to their ongoing development.
- Conduct technical-commercial audits and manage non-conformities, proposing and implementing effective resolutions.
- Oversee deliverables related to maintenance plans, checklists, incidents, and third-party services.
- Participate in the development of Work Instructions and collaborate with the Management Systems and Technical teams to ensure alignment.
- Draft and update technical instructions and report on their execution across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting risk prevention for personnel and infrastructure.
- Design, approve, and supervise corrective and scheduled maintenance activities on MV systems.
- Execute hands-on MV corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Prepare safety documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Switching Schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all scheduled and unscheduled MV activities.
- Provide immediate technical support and manage execution of MV and LV maintenance operations.
Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with substations, switchgear, and both corrective and preventive maintenance operations.Strong background in MV / HV equipment, including relays protection systems, transformers, and electrical diagrams (As Built).Bachelor’s degree or professional training in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.Proven experience as a High Voltage / Medium Voltage Team Leader.Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.In-depth knowledge of Spanish electrical regulations and safety standards.Proficiency in drafting safety procedures and technical documentation.Solid IT skills with a good understanding of HV / MV communication protocols and networks.Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, and strong reporting capabilities.Fluent in Spanish and English, with the ability to operate effectively in international environments.A hands-on, solution-oriented approach with a strong commitment to safety and technical excellence.Feel free to reach out to for more information or apply with your CV!
