API is seeking a seasoned professional to join our company as an Account Director . The position will be based remotely in the Madrid, Spain region. The Account Director is the main point of contact for clients and will actively manage existing client relationships with our partners, always focusing on the best interests of our clients and API.
Essential Functions
- Sourcing : Oversee the direction of existing API accounts to maximize relationships and expand market share, working closely with the Research & Sourcing team. Assist with sourcing destinations through RFP processes, ensuring detailed and accurate documentation that meets client needs and revenue goals.
- Site Inspections : Conduct hotel site inspections domestically and internationally to ensure properties meet client criteria.
- Contracting : Negotiate hotel contracts, renewals, and addendums. Monitor market conditions, manage risks, and maintain strong hotel relationships.
- Day-to-Day Account Management : Collaborate with sales team to meet client needs, share leads, and ensure client satisfaction.
- CrewCare : Manage crew member feedback, update hotel information, and ensure accuracy in the system.
- Hotel Express & ACES : Ensure proper loading and maintenance of negotiated rates and hotel contract information in respective platforms.
- CRM : Maintain accurate client and hotel data, understand client needs, and provide strategic recommendations. Lead client communications and internal reporting.

- Work Environment & Physical Demands : Remotely operated, requiring regular communication, and physical ability to perform typical office tasks.
- Position Details : Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening / weekend work and up to 25% travel. Salary range : €59,000-€65,000 annually.
- Requirements : Over 7 years in the travel industry, experience with hotels, bachelor’s degree, strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, customer service skills, and ability to work independently. Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred.
