Chief Consultant Advisory – Wind Turbine and Electrical

As our new Wind Turbine Chief Consultant, you will be part of our global Offshore Wind Advisory team. You will engage with various stakeholders supporting project development across all stages, from early conceptual design until project execution and package management. You will support in shaping and enhancing our service deliverables. You will also play a pivotal role in the development, design, installation, and commissioning of wind turbine electrical systems for wind energy projects. Leveraging your expertise in electrical engineering and renewable energy, you will contribute to the development and optimization of wind farm projects and wind turbine systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As part of the Offshore Wind Advisory team, you will be involved in multidisciplinary project teams delivering complex offshore wind projects and in our Wind Turbine technology-dedicated team, focusing on developing Ramboll’s knowledge and services. Your responsibilities include :

  • Supporting and leading relevant work packages for wind turbine scopes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulations, and industry standards; helping clients identify suitable technical concepts based on site conditions, local market factors, and risk appetite.
  • Providing expert guidance and strategic advice on wind turbine electrical systems, supporting clients in shaping strategies, collaborating on innovative solutions, and addressing technical challenges.
  • Delivering technical due diligence for large finance transitions, taking responsibility for wind turbine scope.
  • Managing wind turbine packages within our Owner’s Engineer services, overseeing interfaces, program, risk, and change management, and supporting project teams.
  • Coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure system integration during project execution.
  • Leading technical preparation, coordination, and management of turbine scope tenders, including review and evaluation of offers.
  • Supporting standardization initiatives to develop modular technical requirements, preparing specifications, manuals, and procedures, and maintaining documentation.
  • Providing training and mentorship to team members and subcontractors, fostering continuous learning.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in wind projects, with wind turbine electrical system expertise preferred.
  • Extensive offshore wind project development, execution, and operation experience, either within a developer organization or as an Owner’s Engineer.
  • Strong industry knowledge of design, engineering, project economics, risks, and commercial aspects of offshore wind farms.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage timelines.
  • Experience negotiating complex construction contracts is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of offshore health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Effective collaboration, leadership, and stakeholder management skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to evaluate technical options, including cost considerations.
