Clevertech, a growing organization based in New York City, is currently seeking to add a Director of Finance & Operations to our lean and expanding team. This unique role is ideal for someone comfortable managing both detailed financial tasks and strategic business planning. The position reports directly to the organization's C-suite.

Major Finance Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance team responsible for corporate finance activities, including transaction recording, classification per GAAP, monthly closing, and producing accurate financial reports and operational KPIs for management.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex financial discrepancies, implementing corrective actions to improve processes and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and mentor the Finance and HR teams, providing career guidance, training, and support.
  • Perform investment analysis and present findings to leadership.

Major Operations Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reports from recruiting and HR departments.
  • Develop workforce plans, improve forecasting, and maintain a pipeline of talent for key roles.
  • Oversee resource management KPIs, though this role does not involve direct HR / recruiting functions.

    • Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of accounting experience (preferably at a top 5 firm) or management consulting experience.
  • Proficiency with reporting software tools.
  • Leadership skills to guide teams through change and challenges, fostering teamwork and goal achievement.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication, both verbal and written, with a focus on business writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
