Data Ops Engineer Job Description

Do you have experience with Microsoft Azure and a passion for data operations? We are looking for a Data Ops Engineer to join our team and help optimize our cloud-based data operations and pipelines. You will work closely with our Data Engineering and Design teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our data solutions on Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Operations & Monitoring

Ensure the availability and performance of Azure solutions (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL)

  • Set up alerts, dashboards, and logs using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and App Insights
  • Maintain data quality, consistency, and governance
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting

    • Provide support for data pipeline failures and performance issues

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
  • Automation & Process Optimization

    • Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Azure Functions

  • Optimize ETL / ELT processes and reduce operational costs through usage monitoring
  • Security & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with regulations (GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.)

  • Manage access controls (RBAC), encryption, and conduct regular audits
  • Collaboration & Documentation

    • Document procedures, troubleshooting guides, and runbooks

  • Provide internal training and share knowledge with the team

    • Requirements & Skills Experience & Education

  • 3–5 years in DataOps, Data Engineering, or Cloud Operations roles
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services
  • English : C1 conversational level

    • Technical Skills

  • Azure Data Factory, Synapse, SQL Database, Functions, Stream Analytics, Data Lake
  • Monitoring tools : Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights
  • Scripting : PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • CI / CD & Infrastructure as Code : Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Bicep
  • Security : RBAC, encryption, access control

    • Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage stress and handle multiple priorities
  • Clear communication and documentation skills

    • Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of Azure Purview, Azure Fabrics
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes
