The Role

Acai Travel is revolutionizing the travel industry by empowering leading Airlines, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) and Travel Management Companies (TMCs) with cutting-edge AI agentic solutions. We are rebuilding the travel industry with agentic software.

Acai's founders previously sold an AI company to American Express GBT, value for your equity is a guarantee!

Acai Travel ($4.5M raised, VC-backed) needs a Head of Engineering / CTO who owns customer relationships while scaling our technical team. As our CTO focuses on strategic growth, you'll lead 8-15 engineers in 2025 and be the central point of contact and value delivery of the company. You will work closely with our two founders (CEO and CPTO).

In just few months, we've grown from 3 clients ($15K MRR) to 10 clients ($80K MRR) at 30% monthly growth. You'll own our most complex customer accounts while mentoring our engineering team.

What You'll Do :

Customer & Sales (40%)

  • Own strategic enterprise accounts - customers know you by name
  • Lead technical sales calls and close complex deals
  • Present technical solutions to C-suite prospects
  • Partner with Founding Product Leader on customer strategy and delivery
  • Take over technical sales so our CTO can focus strategically

Technical Leadership (60%)

  • Lead 8 engineers and mentor 2 Lead Engineers (building their leadership skills)
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineer / Architect (ex-Adobe) on technical decisions
  • Make pragmatic build vs. delay decisions with startup speed
  • Earn respect through technical depth, not authority
  • Code when absolutely necessary (but hopefully won't need to)

    Technical + Customer Skills :

  • 10+ years engineering, 5+ years leading teams
  • Strong technical credibility - respected companies / projects background
  • Technical sales, pre-sales, or customer-facing experience
  • Can present complex solutions to enterprise buyers
  • Full-stack capability with B2B integration experience
  • Leadership Style :

  • Lead through influence and expertise
  • Collaborative with senior technical people and product leaders
  • Can coach junior leads while respecting their growth
  • Direct communication - can say "NO" and be heard
