Magic Beans is a Specialised Consulting Firm dedicated to helping clients adopt Cloud technologies . With offices in Lisbon, Porto, Óbidos, Brussels, Madrid, and Barcelona, we deliver innovative projects in dynamic, cloud-native environments.

We are looking for an Integration / API Consultant with solid programming experience and a strong background in API management and system integration. If you are passionate about technology and eager to grow in a collaborative and agile team — this opportunity is for you!

Main Responsabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust integrations between systems and services.
  • Implement and manage API gateways and integration platforms (e.g. Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver API-based solutions.
  • Ensure API security and compliance with best practices and standards (OAuth2, mTLS, OWASP).
  • Monitor and optimise integration solutions for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Support legacy transformation (SOAP to REST) and maintain documentation aligned with API governance.
  • Participate in continuous integration and delivery (CI / CD) workflows and infrastructure.

Valued Skills

Experience in integration and API development projects, ideally with 3 or more years in similar roles.

Proficiency in :

  • JavaScript / Node.js – REST, async patterns.
  • Python – FastAPI or Flask, data processing.
  • XML + XSLT – Template creation and performance tuning.

    • Experience with :

  • API Management Platforms – Google Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or others.
  • CI / CD & Cloud – GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines; AWS or GCP.
  • Security Standards – OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, OWASP API Top 10.
  • Integration Tools / ESBs – MuleSoft, Oracle SOA Suite, or similar.
  • API Design – RESTful APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger, governance, versioning.
  • Web Services (SOAP) – Exposure and consumption; migration to REST.

    • Language Skills

    Fluent in Spanish and English.
