The Position

As a Senior / Principal Biostatistician, you are responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing advanced biostatistical projects to uncover key insights that enhance the NAVIFY product portfolio, ultimately leading to better and more efficient patient care. The data you will work with will be diverse, including but not limited to clinical patient-level data, lab, imaging, digital health, and more.

You will work closely with peers in Data, Analytics & Research and other teams to develop and refine Clinical Decision Support (CDS) solutions like the navify Algorithm Suite. Your role will involve improving product support strategies, identifying evidence gaps and relevant data sources, designing and executing clinical studies, and performing rigorous statistical analyses to optimize existing products. Additionally, you will play a vital role in driving the discovery and early development of new features or applications to advance the NAVIFY portfolio.

You will ensure that the design, execution, and presentation of analytical results adhere to and potentially improve industry standards. You will leverage and expand your knowledge of healthcare data sources and state-of-the-art analytical methodologies, large-scale data processing, and visualization using programming languages such as R and Python. Drawing on your scientific expertise and advanced analytical skills, you will collaborate with cross-functional experts, including data scientists, epidemiologists, product owners, and clinicians, to discover novel insights that lead to optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate clinical algorithms that support Clinical Decision Support systems and other digital health solutions.
  • Design, execute, and interpret complex statistical analyses for real-world data, clinical trials registries, claims data, genomic data, etc.
  • Collaborate with clinical experts to ensure our algorithms and insights are clinically relevant and evidence-based.
  • Identify appropriate study designs and methodologies to address specific research questions, including creating statistical analysis plans.
  • Prepare and review statistical sections of regulatory submissions and respond to regulatory questions.
  • Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional colleagues, including data scientists, epidemiologists, product managers, and clinicians.
  • Stay committed to innovation, enhancing processes and methodologies, and sharing techniques and lessons learned with peers.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior biostatisticians and data scientists.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Who You Are

  • Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in complex biostatistical projects. Industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with clinical trials, regulatory submissions, and real-world evidence studies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to digital products and healthcare data (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Proficiency in R and Python.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methodologies, including survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, and Bayesian methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

    You will be based in St Cugat. International travel may be required depending on business needs.
