About the UI Platform teams Design System
This team owns Stripe’s design system, and therefore plays a critical role in the creation of intuitive and high-quality user experiences at Stripe. We are responsible for delivering essential UI components, infrastructure, and best practices that ensure consistency and excellence across all product surfaces. Our platform supports a diverse range of applications—from extensive web platforms to embedded interfaces and SEO-optimized sites—empowering product teams to rapidly build and deploy with confidence. By focusing on consistent interactions, accessibility, and performance, we provide seamless and engaging user interactions.
Core UI
The Core UI team provides essential front-end APIs, primitives, and tools that empower Stripe teams to build user interfaces at scale, efficiently, and with consistency. We focus on foundational building blocks such as data fetching, navigation, observability, feature flagging, and testing utilities. By addressing complex, low-level challenges, we aim to enhance the performance of our web applications and create a seamless development experience for our fellow engineers at Stripe. Our team is ambitious and forward-thinking, committed to building solutions that not only meet today's needs but also lay the groundwork for future innovations, ultimately enriching the value that Stripe can deliver to its customers.
UI Extensibility
The UI Extensibility team builds on the foundation established by Core UI and Design Systems to create powerful frontend tooling for both first and third-party developers. We specialize in developing the framework that enables developers to extend Stripe surfaces and the products of our Connect customers through UI Extensions in Stripe Apps. Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the UI extension SDK, managing the in-browser lifecycle of apps through our runtime environment, and providing all the necessary infrastructure to develop, run, and present these extensions to users. In short, UI extensibility aims to empower developers to build seamlessly integrated, customized business solutions that work across the Stripe ecosystem.
