Job Summary

As Head of Engineering and Construction, you will lead our global Engineering and Construction team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee Engineering, Project Construction, and PMO activities from development through construction to operational handover.

Work can preferably be based in Madrid, or alternatively in Milan, Vienna, or Athens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a global engineering and construction team, managing operations across geographies, including offices in Spain and Chile. Ensure alignment with growth strategies and promote a participatory work culture, including gender equity initiatives.
  • Lead project planning, development, management, control, and execution to meet scope, schedule, safety, quality, cost, and sustainability objectives. Oversee development optimization and project delivery aligned with company KPIs and policies.
  • Define and monitor project quality management plans, ensuring compliance among contractors, suppliers, and during tenders. Lead and consolidate the PMO area.
  • Supervise project startup phases, ensuring proper setup and verification of systems and components, adhering to industry best practices and regulations. Participate in contracting strategies and contractor evaluations.
  • Manage technical (DEVEX) and investment (CAPEX) budgets, ensuring proper resource allocation and financial oversight. Generate management reports and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish SLA protocols between business and service units for project management, ensuring KPIs, customer satisfaction, and standards are met.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management, with leadership across different geographies.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Technical expertise in Combined Cycle, Power Generation, and Renewable Technologies (PV, Wind, BESS).
  • Strong leadership and team guiding skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on measurable success.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Preferred

  • Knowledge in Hydro technologies is a plus.
