Serve as a full partner to the business in evaluating and challenging the status quo to surface value opportunities and cost optimization.
Research industry category trends and best practices.
Sourcing and Contracting :
Drive sourcing projects emerging from category management.
Define goals, including roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
Incorporate business requirements into sourcing plans and RFP strategies.
Manage the planning and launch of RFx events, leveraging eSourcing tools such as SAP Ariba.
Analyze current spend data to identify sourcing projects for subcategories, and develop cost reduction plans, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate and lead negotiations; help stakeholders understand trade-offs and benefits of negotiation strategies and outcomes.
Develop global / regional contracts that are commercially sound and protect company assets, with comprehensive implementation involving stakeholders and end users.
Quantify and report on sourcing project results.
Process Improvement :
Identify profit improvement opportunities beyond sourcing, such as demand management, insource vs. outsource decisions, supply chain efficiencies, and other strategic and operational process improvements.
Ensure cross-functional collaboration on process improvement projects.
Foster performance-based supplier relationships to create value for the company.
Lead global business reviews with strategic suppliers to ensure performance against contracts and expectations.
Use KPIs to anticipate and minimize performance issues.
Identify root causes of issues and work across stakeholders for resolution.
Negotiate and develop contract terms, conditions, SLAs, and pricing.
